One of our team members recently attended the vibrant NOVA 2024 event in Singapore, where they had the chance to meet industry leaders and explore new opportunities. Among the notable connections was Jared Kong, Gushcloud's Creator Acquisitions Director, with whom they discussed potential collaborations.
They also connected with exciting brands such as Republic of Gamers and Hanjan, and met suppliers for MEG. A standout moment was meeting Champ Medici, Snoop Dogg’s son, known for his work in the metaverse and Fortnite. The event was brimming with energy and promises great follow-up opportunities.

GeoGuessr World Cup 2024: A Landmark Event in Esports
Did you know that the GeoGuessr World Cup took place this month?
This tournament, now in its second edition since its inception in 2023, has made significant strides in the esports landscape.
The 2024 GeoGuessr World Cup shattered previous records, boasting approximately 59,000 average viewers—an impressive jump from 2023's 25,240. In total, the event garnered around 1.56 million hours watched. While GeoGuessr might not be considered a traditional esports title, it has a dedicated following. The game challenges players to identify their location on a global map, providing a unique twist to competitive gaming.
Remarkably, this year's GeoGuessr World Cup outperformed some established esports tournaments in peak viewership, surpassing the League of Legends LCS Spring 2024 (246,184), the Call of Duty League 2024: Stage 1 Major (245,437), and the Halo Championship Series 2024: Arlington Major (109,670).
Held at the iconic Stockholm City Hall—also known for hosting the Nobel Banquet—the GeoGuessr World Cup 2024 distributed over $50,000 (~£37,900) in prizes during its playoffs, showcasing its growth despite its relatively modest prize pool.
The rise of GeoGuessr esports can be traced back to the pandemic, when a surge of streamers and creators embraced the game during lockdowns. This popularity led to the establishment of the GeoGuessr World Cup in 2023, and it continues to thrive as a niche yet impactful esports event.
In 2024, GeoGuessr expanded its World Cup and strengthened its partnership with Black Molly Entertainment, enhancing the overall experience for participants and viewers alike.
